Imperial Beach Pier Closed for at Least 2 Weeks Due to Structural Damage

The preferred Imperial Seaside pier was once closed on Monday because of obvious structural injury after a wood piling was once observed floating within sight.

The Port of San Diego mentioned the pier was once closed by means of Imperial Seaside lifeguards round 6:30 p.m. on account of the plain smash between gentle posts 15 and 16.

The port mentioned inspection and imaginable maintenance would take a minimum of two weeks, partially on account of present prime surf stipulations.

“The pier will stay closed till the structural engineering workforce confirms the pier is secure for the general public, which might take as much as two weeks,” the port mentioned. “Along with the pier closure, the general public is instructed to avoid the waters close to the pier till the damaged piling can also be discovered and pulled out of the water.”
